Tornado watch issued for Mountain Empire

(1 pm EST) The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a tornado watch for a majority of upper Northeast Tennessee and eight counties in Southwest Virginia including Lee, Scott, Wise, Dickenson, Russell, Washington, Tazewell and Buchanan.

Possible conditions include hail, rain and winds of up to 70 miles per hour. The watch is active until 8 pm EST or if conditions decrease as the storm moves in.
