Richmond man to serve 14 years in prison for Wise County shooting

A Richmond, Virginia, man who pleaded guilty in January to a shooting in downtown Big Stone Gap in 2022 received a 14-year prison sentence in Wise County Circuit Court.

Shane Christopher Martin, 32, was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and a firearm charged following the incident at the former Economy Drug location.

Police said Martin opened fire and left the victim in the parking lot. He was later captured at a local restaurant where he worked.
