New Morristown plant being constructed to meet demand for ‘barndominiums’

Summertown Metals announced the construction of a new manufacturing and distribution facility in Morristown that will create 170 new jobs and an investment of almost $23 million over a five-year period.
Current plans call for metal roll forming, steel and wood truss production and material distribution to be based in Hamblen County to aid in the growth of barndominium construction and their rustic style homes.
Some credit TV home gurus Chip and Joanna Gaines of starting the prefab trend nearly 10 years ago with their open air features and budget-friendly construction cost.
