NEW: Henry County superintendent chosen as new Bristol school leader

A 20-year educator and current chief of public schools in Henry County, Virginia has been selected as the new school leader in Bristol, Virginia.

A statement issued by central office on Tuesday afternoon said David Scott has accepted a contract for the job of Superintendent of Schools effective Aug. 1.

The Virginia School Boards Association assisted Bristol in the search. Scott replaces Keith Perrigan who was hired by neighboring Washington County.
