Lots of new arrivals at animal shelter looking for homes

The Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter wants families who are considering adopting a new pet to consider the 17 puppies and 24 dogs recently rescued from hoarding situations. A social media post says the shelter rescued 17 puppies, from 10 to 16 weeks old, from a hoarding situation on Tuesday. And then Wednesday, the animal shelter removed another 24 dogs of various breeds from two different locations. Shelter officials say the shelter is currently housing around 60 dogs who are looking for new homes. The Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter is located on Sycamore Shoals Drive in Elizabethton.
