Grant funding available for new Greene County Health Department facility

The state of Tennessee has chosen two counties for replacement of their health departments and one is Greene County. The state would provide 5 million in grant funding, and the county would have to match 1 million for a project total of 6 million. The site for the new facility is located on the former Greene Valley Developmental Center property. Relocating the health department facility is not official yet. The county still needs to take multiple steps before it can apply for the grant funding including a land survey the land, speak with the Tusculum Industrial Board because they share the property, and have county commissioners ok the project.
