White Pine couple indicted for death of 5-year-old

A White Pine couple have been indicted by a grand jury following the investigation into the death of a 5-year-old girl in November.

William Nicholas Sipple and Shirley Ann Hurst were taken into custody and both are charged with aggravated child abuse. The juvenile, Aurora Grace Hurst, was found dead by officers at the family’s home on Harrison Road.

A White Pine policeman said the arrest of the adults brings some closure in the case.

“I would like to thank the hard work of Lt. Paul Lowe, the Department of Children’s Services, the District Attorney’s Office, and the officers of the White Pine Police Department,” said Chief of Police Chad Cotter. “Their dedication and persistence in this case have been instrumental in bringing charges against those responsible.”
