Virginia’s Attorney General investigating allegations of price gouging for insulin

The middle man that links companies and physicians for pharmacy benefits in employee insurance plans is the focus of a price gauging investigation started by Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares.
A report from his office issued Tuesday says there are allegations of several pharmacy benefit managers working with pharmaceutical companies to violate state consumer protection laws by inflating the cost of insulin and diabetic medications
Miyares said Virginia residents should not have to worry about their next dose while the cost of insulin continues to soar.
