VA Disaster Assistance Team to visit residents impacted by storms in Smyth County

The Smyth County Sheriff’s Office is informing residents that the Virginia Disaster Assistance Team will visit residents affected by Hurricane Helene to provide resources. The Virginia Disaster Assistance Team from the Mount Rogers Community Services Board will soon conduct door-to-door visits in Smyth County to meet with residents “hit hard” by Hurricane Helene and other recent severe weather events. The office said the goal is to provide resources and to offer support. The team will present photo identification and disclose that they are with the Mount Rogers Community Services, Virginia Disaster Assistance Team.
