UT Vet Medicine department accepting well wishes online for Smokey X

The University of Tennessee’s College of Veterinary Medicine is accepting well wished and tributes for Smokey X following the legend’s medical diagnosis.

A mass identified as renal carcinoma (cancer of the kidney) was found during one of Smokey’s biannual checkups.

A message from the school said Smokey X is receiving palliative care to help with discomfort and although timing of his passing can’t be predicted, vet officials are making sure he enjoys each day with care.
