UPDATE: Johnson City Waffle House shooting suspect turns himself in

Johnson City Waffle House shooting suspect Rakewon Grimes turned himself into authorities at police headquarters Tuesday afternoon, according to an agency statement.

The incident took place at the restaurant on North State of Franklin around 4 am Sunday morning, leaving one person injured.

The police report earlier said the victim was hospitalized after being treated for multiple gunshot wounds.

Grimes is charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon in connection to the shooting.
