UPDATE: Greene County officials close murder case of 16-year-old runaway

The last person to see Greene County runaway Danielle Owens alive was sentenced to four years in prison for criminally negligent homicide.

David Dabbs, 33, is currently jailed for an 8-year term on drug charges and accepted an Alford plea in the teen death case.

Owens’ body was found one year ago in a cornfield off Doughety’s Chapel Road. She had also been listed as a runaway by child protective services.

Prosecutors said an autopsy showed Owens had a fatal amount of drugs in her system at the time of her death.
