UPDATE: Details released about suspects arrested at use of force incident in Kingsport

More details were released by Sullivan County authorities concerning a use of force incident at a Kingsport trailer park on Barnett Drive.

James Collins, 66, was taken into custody after he allegedly fired shots at SWAT team and Special Operations Unit members—one of whom returned fire. A search warrant executed on the property resulted in supplies of meth, marijuana, and Gabapentin being recovered along with other items that are being tested at TBI labs.

Collins has a list of charges including child endangerment, maintaining a dwelling where drugs are sold and various drug and weapon charges. Another resident, 33-year-old Brooke Salyer, was arrested and charged with violating probation. The TBI is investigating the exchange of gunfire between the suspect and officer.
