TOSHA starts an investigation into workplace fatality with WC-JC EMS
A spokesperson for Tennessee OSHA says it has started an investigation into a workplace fatality involving the Washington County-Johnson City EMS. A fatality investigation can take up to six months to complete. Wednesday it was reported that Fred Kemp, a rescue technician and advanced EMT with the Washington County-Johnson City EMS, died during a training exercise. The TOSHA spokesperson said the department does not release preliminary information while the investigation is active.
