TN residents gear up for sales tax holiday weekend

Tennesseans will be able to save nearly 10% on essential items during the state’s annual sales tax holiday weekend, which runs from Friday, July 25, through Sunday, July 27. During the weekend, clothing and school supplies priced at $100 or less, as well as computers priced at $1,500 or less, will be tax-free. The savings apply to both online and in-store purchases. General apparel that costs $100 or less per item, such as shirts, pants, socks, shoes, dresses will be exempt. School and art supplies with a purchase price of $100 or less per item, like binders, backpacks, crayons, paper, pens, pencils, and art supplies will also be exempt.
