State board imposes five-year ban on Sullivan County attorney

Sullivan County attorney Samuel White has accepted a five-year ban from practicing law by the state Supreme Court’s Board of Professional Responsibility.
Complaints taken up by the full board made against White included no reasonable communication with clients on their case status, charging a non-refundable fee without a written agreement and misappropriating client funds, according to a statement released by the board.
White was also ordered to pay restitution to select clients.
