Residents still opposed to Johnson County bitcoin mine

Residents in Johnson County remain opposed to the proposed 30-megawatt Bitcoin mining facility by Nevada-based CleanSpark which would be constructed on 50 acres of land along Highway 421 and Rainbow Road. At the Mountain City planning commission meeting, Jason Bryan, a committee member, announced that he is not opposed and has joined the CleanSpark initiative as an employee as of June 2nd. Bryan said that he would not vote or participate in future discussions. The public has expressed major concerns about the potential impact of the mine on multiple levels. Despite public opposition, Planning commissioners recommended approving a zoning change for the Rainbow Road property.
