Report: North Carolina 11-year-old and adult planned getaway online
A young girl that police said met up with someone they met over the internet has been found.
Police in neighboring Watauga County North Carolina declared 11-year-old Kimberly Trivette missing after she was seen leaving with an adult at a Banner Elk neighborhood around midnight.
A report from the Sheriff’s Office account on Facebook said an in-depth review of the juvenile’s social media and online activity indicated a getaway was planned by the girl and a suspect out of West Virginia.
The agency reported Trivette was located in Marshall County and was being returned to her parents. The case remains under investigation.
