Narcotics suspect speeds through 2 states on Interstate 81 with multiple police in pursuit

An alarming scene on Interstate 81 this week as an SUV was being pursued by multiple police patrol vehicles.

A Sheriff’s Office report said the driver was Jonas Thompson, 44, of High Point, North Carolina who failed to stop for officers when they spotted his SUV which is connected to an ongoing narcotics investigation.

The chase started in Virginia on Tuesday just before 11 am and ended in Tennessee where Thompson is being held by authorities on charges of destroying evidence, carrying a gun while possessing drugs and possession. His Virginia charges include abduction and two drug violations.
