Kingsport murder suspect takes guilty plea deal

A man accused of murdering a Kingsport woman in 2019 accepted a guilty plea deal this month. Nathaniel White-Young was had been charged with first-degree murder after 37 year old, Melissa Mingle, was found unresponsive in her front yard on Fordtown Road on October 6th, 2019. Mingle died days later. White-Young was located by police in Hamblen County and taken into custody under an arrest warrant days after Mingle’s death. Following White-Young’s plea deal acceptance on July 10, the court is charging him with 2nd degree murder, 2 counts of aggravated arson, and 4 counts of tampering with evidence.
