Judge approves portion of JC settlement for minor

A federal judge Friday recommended approval of another portion of Johnson City’s settlement with alleged victims of Sean Williams. This part is with a minor who says they were sex trafficked by Williams and Johnson City police failed to investigate, which the city denies. Williams is currently seeking another delay in his federal criminal trials. A federal magistrate judge found the settlement between Johnson City and an alleged Sean Williams victim “is within the best interest of the minor.” The amount for the minor is redacted in court documents. A hearing for the final approval of the settlement is set for January 6.
