Johnson City woman’s two-state pursuit ends in Virginia

A Johnson City woman was arrested in Virginia after the early investigation revealed she almost hit an agent with the TBI with her vehicle.

State troopers and agents were in pursuit of Cynthia Bowman, 41, on Tuesday afternoon when the chase continued on northbound Interstate 81 into Virginia. Bowman’s vehicle came to a stop in Abingdon after running over spike strips at Exit 14 then was taken into custody by Washington County, Virginia officers.

No injuries were reported.
