A new Johnson City commissioner has been appointed. Thursday, the commission unanimously appointed Whitney Goetz to fill the vacant seat following a motion made by Commissioner Jenny Brock. Goetz was the only candidate to be privately selected by all four commissioners to be interviewed. Goetz will serve out the remainder of the current term, which ends November 2026. Brock was named Vice Mayor, a position she previously held in 2017, after another unanimous vote.
