JC Commissioners now in the process of filling empty seat

Johnson City Commissioners are working toward filling the vacant commission seat left after former Mayor John Hunter’s resignation. 19 people have submitted letters and resumes expressing interest in the position. Monday morning each city commissioner submitted two finalists and Johnson City residents can send a letter of support by 5 p.m. Monday afternoon. A public meeting Tuesday at 4 p.m. will provide finalists an opportunity to be interviewed. The new commissioner will be appointed Thursday night.
