Five count indictment handed down in Hawkins County related to 2023 Mooresburg fire

The TBI recently submitted results of a 2023 fire in Mooresburg to a Hawkins County grand jury.

The result was a five-count indictment against 70-year-old Daniel Dewayne Manning.

Prosecutors accuse Manning of deliberately setting a fire on property located in the 700 block of Big Hill Road to get a possible payout from an insurance policy. Manning is charged with arson, insurance fraud, false reports, reckless endangerment and vandalism. The report said Manning was arrested then issued a $30,000 bond.
