ETSU Quillen College of Medicine announces increased class size for 2026

East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine is going to increase its class size in response to a growing nationwide demand for doctors. Starting next year, the college will expand its enrollment from 78 to 100 students, which would still be one of the smallest class sizes in the nation. Officials say over four thousand applicants apply each year for those seventy eight spots and having the opportunity to offer a hundred will be one step in helping to fill the need. The Association of American Medical Colleges projects that the United States will face a shortage of more than 80,000 physicians by 2036.
