Elizabethton man charged after pursuit/crash

An Elizabethton man was arrested Wednesday after crashing a vehicle while evading arrest on Sunday. Washington County Sheriffs Office responded to a report shortly after midnight on Sunday of a female passenger in a pickup truck screaming for help in the Hall Road area. Deputies a stop, but the driver fled to Highway 81 South. Deputies found he truck speeding on Cherokee Road, attempted another stop before the vehicle crashed. The driver, 19 year old Austin G. Morris and 2 passengers were transported to the hospital for treatment. Morris faces multiple charges including aggravated assault , Reckless Endangerment, and Evading Arrest.
