Bristol TN BOE postpones vote to accept Melrose facility

The Bristol, Tennessee Board of Education postponed a vote to accept ownership of a city-owned facility on Melrose Street. The property was purchased by the city in 2022 for a new recreation center and officials have been in talks about the school system’s use of the facility. A week ago, City Council passed a resolution authorizing the transfer of the Melrose property to the school system. A resolution to accept the transfer of ownership was on the agenda for Monday night’s school board meeting, but a vote was postponed until it could be further studied.
