Bridge in Johnson County to be named after former Sheriff Eddie Tester

State Representative Timothy Hill just announced that a bridge in Mountain City will be named after the late Johnson County Sheriff Eddie Tester. The bridge is on Lakeview Drive and spans Watauga Lake near State Route 167 near the Roan Creek Road and Doe Creek Road intersection. Hill said “Sheriff Tester was a pillar in the community and that he was thankful to be able to keep his memory alive with a bridge in his name. Tester served as the Johnson County Sheriff from 2018 until his passing in 2023. He also served as a Tennessee state trooper for 18 years and spent several years with Several Fire and Rescue agencies. A bridge dedication ceremony is happening on June 28 at 11 a.m. at the Johnson County Courthouse in Mountain City.
