Braves’ Eli White has batting helmet from Speedway Classic headed to the Baseball Hall

Atlanta Braves outfielder Eli White can claim to be the first MLB player to hit a home run at a race track in the modern era.
White actually had two during the Speedway Classic and the Bravos 4-2 win over the Reds at Bristol Motor Speedway. White has also earned another honor—this one holds a little more clout.
The Greenville, SC native’s batting helmet from Sunday’s game is now headed to Cooperstown and will be put on display and preserved at the National Baseball Hall of Fame. It will be catalogued and become part of the game’s history.
