Biohazard incident forces early closure of outdoor Aquatic Center pools in Kingsport

Officials had to shut a portion of the Kingsport Aquatic Center Tuesday due to a biohazard incident.

A statement from the center on social media called it an “accidental fecal release” in the outdoor leisure pool.

The report said Tennessee and National health codes were being followed to disinfect the area while most of the indoor swimming areas were not affected at the center and remained open.
