Human skull found on JC golf course still under investigation

A human skull that was found at Pine Oaks Golf Course last week is still under the investigation by the Johnson City Police Department. The human skull was found on Thursday near a wooded area on the golf course by a bystander, who called 911 around 5:30 p.m. The Criminal Investigations Division responded, cleared the scene and then closed the back half of the golf course that evening. Officers searched for any other human remains Friday morning by bringing in a cadaver dog from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and searched 800-1,000 meters surrounding the area where the skull was found with no indication from the dog. The skull is being examined by teams at the East Tennessee State University William L. Jenkins Forensic Center.
