Mayor Joe Grandy calls for resignation of ETSU faculty in Charlie Kirk controversy

A local executive with ties to East Tennessee State University says two faculty members suspended for comments made about Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk should resign from the school.
Washington County Tennessee Mayor Joe Grandy, an ETSU honorary alumnus, said if resignations are not tendered, the Board of Regents should reconvene, strip them of their tenure and fire them.
Grandy’s statement said ETSU represents the region as one of the flagship institutions and the conduct of Professors Andrew Herrmann and Russell Brown is a breach of public trust.
An investigation into the actions of the Herrmann and Brown was started a day after Kirk’s assassination in Utah.
