WCSO TN deputies arrest man on multiple animal cruelty counts

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 24 year old Zachary N. Miller Sunday and charged him with four counts of Animal Cruelty. Deputies responded to Cash Hollow Road on August 17 and discovered multiple deceased animals, including a dead pig and two dead domestic rabbits. A dog, which was chained outside of the barn, did not have access to clean water. The bucket of water Miller indicated was the dog’s water source was filled with algae and worms. Miller said that a racoon killed the 10 dead chickens Deputies discovered decaying in feed bags at the barn. An agent for the Department of Agriculture responded to the scene and determined the rabbits found deceased were domestic rabbits. Miller relinquished the dog to Animal Control and Deputies transported Miller to the Washington County Detention Center. Miller is scheduled to appear in court Monday with additional charges pending from the Department of Agriculture.
