Motorcyclist arrested after evading police, arrested after reporting cycle “stolen”

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested 61 year old William Todd Rodefer of Jonesborough, and charged him with mulitple charges including Trespass by Motor Vehicle and Felony Evading Arrest. Deputies saw a black motorcycle run a stop sign on Old Embreeville Road at Greenwood Drive shortly after 5 p.m. on July 13. The motorcyclist evaded Deputies and then dumped the motorcycle, helmet and clothing in a wooded area along Greenwood Drive. The motorcycle was registered to Rodefer and two family members were able to identify the clothing left at the scene. Rodefer then went to the Sheriff’s Office on July 15 and reported the motorcycle stolen. Deputies responded to Rodefer’s residence and took him into custody on the evening of July 15. He was also served a warrant for Violation of Probation. Rodefer has court dates on July 17 for Violation of Probation and on July 30 for the other charges.
