JCPD releases name of victim in Watauga Road crash

A passenger in one of two vehicles involved in a head-on crash in Johnson City died from their injuries.

A city police report said the wreck involving a sedan and a delivery truck occurred on Watauga Road just east of McArthur Street. Mark Western, 51, was transported and later died at an area hospital. The drivers of both vehicles were treated and released.

The department’s crash reconstruction team continues to investigate.
