Time is ticking: VDH officials want your ticks this summer

Health department officials in Virginia are trying to get a handle on the tick population and where they are being found.
The agency is asking for ticks to be mailed-in if you discover one or happen to be bit by one as part of their annual tick survey. They are also using the project to monitor tick-bourne diseases in the commonwealth. Part of the project has residents placing the tick in a plastic bag or container with rubbing alcohol then mailing it in.
Extensive directions and facts are available by visiting the VDH website and clicking on ‘Tick Survey’ or by scanning the QR code available online.
