NOAA weather radio outage planned this week for system update

The National Weather Service in Morristown says that a prolonged system update will cause a weather radio outage over most of the region from Tuesday May 27th through Friday May 30th. The transmitter located on Holston Mountain, which covers the Tri-Cities, is apart of the outage. The outage affects weather radios across all of Northeast Tennessee, Northwest North Carolina along with Lee, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Washington, and Wise Counties in Southwest Virginia.
