‘Operation Small Town’ results in 8 sex offender arrests in Hamblen, Morristown

A multi-agency investigation in Hamblen County and Morristown nicknamed Operation Small Town found 8 non-compliant registered sex offenders violated terms of their sentence.
The TBI report said those violations included failure to report to authorities and change of address, violations involving living or work restrictions, probation violations, theft, drug possession and failure to appear for court dates.
Those checks also confirmed 68 offenders in those areas had completed necessary steps. Officers with the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office and the Morristown Police Department along with personnel with the US Marshals Office completed those reviews during the three days of the operation.
