Kingsport Justice Center closed Wednesday, May 14th

The Kingsport Justice Center will be closed to the public today, Wednesday, May 14th due to “unforeseen circumstances,” according to the police department. The building’s courtrooms were affected by a water leak caused by recent rainfall and ongoing construction. Municipal court cases scheduled for Wednesday will be reset. Those with cases on the docket will be notified of their new court dates. Those with General Sessions or Juvenile Court cases scheduled for Wednesday are asked to contact the appropriate court clerk for more information on when cases will be reset. The police department’s records window will be closed for in-person transactions. Citations may be paid online. The Justice Center is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar expansion project.
