Good Samaritan opens registration for summer food program

Registration is now open for Good Samaritan Ministries’ summer food program, which will provide food boxes to more than 500 families with school-aged children during June and July. The program is available to families in Northeast Tennessee. Non-perishable items are needed to fill the boxes for families in need. Executive Director Aaron Murphy says the agency is soliciting support from the community and is looking for volunteers to help pack food boxes, as well as donations both monetary and in-kind canned goods and other items that the organization is in need of. This year marks the 40th year that Good Samaritan Ministries has been assisting families in need.
