Charges pending after Gate City Middle School bomb threat

School Resource Officers were made aware of a bomb threat that had been made at the Gate City Middle School on Thursday. An evacuation of the school complex was conducted, the grounds search and students were able to return to class after the sweep. An investigation began immediately by Scott County Sheriff’s Office Investigators. That investigation has now concluded and the threat was determined to be a hoax. The department says charges are pending.
