Johnson City woman found guilty of killing her 19 month old child

A jury has found 23 year old, Sapora Walton from Johnson City guilty of first-degree murder and aggravated child neglect in the death of her 19-month-old daughter, Samiah Crater. Jeremiah Crater, Samiah’s father, pleaded guilty Feb. 17 to first-degree murder in Samiah’s death in exchange for a life sentence. He won’t be eligible for parole until 2075. Walton’s sentencing hearing takes place Wednesday morning and the jury will decide whether she will receive a life sentence with or without parole.
