Virginia Health Officials Closely Monitoring Omicron Variant Of COVID19

Virginia health officials say they are closely monitoring the emergence of the COVID 19 Omicron variant but so far no cases have been reported in the United States to this point. State Health Commissioner Dr. Norm Oliver says viruses change and mutate all the time and as Virginia learns more about the Omicron variant, citizens need to continue taking precautions to and again urged those who have not been vaccinated to do so. The level of community transmission in Virginia remains high.
