Russell County woman killed from injuries in single-vehicle crash

A Southwest Virginia woman died from injuries sustained in a crash in Russell County.

A report from State Police said Sheree L. Barnes, 36, of Dante, was ejected from the SUV she was operating on Route 58. A preliminary investigation showed the vehicle’s front tire blew out causing the SUV to overturn.

The crash remains under review. Information from Barnes’ obituary said her unborn child died as a result of the crash.
